Does it cost more to develop an app that works on both iPhone and Android?
Yes. iPhone and Android devices use different operating systems, written in different languages (Objective C and Java respectively). An app that needs to support both platforms must be written from scratch in both languages, effectively doubling the development time and cost.
Will my iPhone app work on an iPad?
Yes. An iPhone app will most likely open and function on an iPad. The app will simply be scaled up to fill the larger screen or it will appear in the center of the screen with black borders depending on the user’s preference. If you wish for your app to take advantage of the extra screen real estate available on an iPad, by changing the app layout or adding extra elements or functionality etc. it can usually be optimised for around 50% of the initial iPhone development cost. Same goes for Android and Android tablets
How long does it take?
Like with estimating a price, total development time varies depending on the complexity of the project. After an initial chat we'll review the features and come back to you within an initial estimate.
